Kitschy Gnome
Sep 04
This little dude was actually one of my first designs for the QK Silhouette, but I haven’t had the time to put together a decent tutorial until now … if you can even consider it decent … could my lighting get any worse??
He’s quite a complex paper piecing, requiring several paper changes and runs through the Silhouette. Now would be a good time to queue up a playlist, lol!

This piece is comprised of 10 different shapes (8 shown here … I forgot the eye whites)

I began by pasting his top onto the dark foundation shape. The neckline of the shirt should sit just on the shoulders.

Next I gave him some trousers. Notice the placement – lined up with the gap at the bottom.

Now it’s time for the face, which will slightly overlap the shirt. The dark background helps to define his facial features here.

Next, let’s give him some boots. Mind the positioning – it’s easy to get these wrong the first time.

Now he’ll need some eye whites. I like to use the nose as a guide for placement.

Ahhhh, finally! This is what I like to call the “de-creepifying” phase. You’ll want to place the beard so the mustache is overlapping his mouth, giving him a sweet little smile.

Here, I’ve used black rhinestones for the eyeballs, but you can use just about anything (including plastic googly eyes!) Top him off with his pointy hat, and you’re done.
– You can find him here at the Silhouette Online Shop –
Don’t forget to check out my other kitschy woodland shapes to complete the look!

LOL, I hadn’t thought of it, but hey why not? =D I’ll keep her in mind, thanks for stopping by Lori!
Hi Valeria,
I just love you lil gnome guy. I just had to make a card for my Mom who collects them. Is there any chance there will be a gnomette??
I would love to get one to download.
Thanks!!
